Poor Video and Livestream Content Quality

The quality of video content in the Virtual Venue depends on multiple factors such as:
     1. Quality of the video source
     2. End-user's available bandwidth
     3. Size of the video player window
First and foremost, the quality of the source material will determine the availability of video quality. For video-on-demand content, the recorded content needs to meet certain requirements in order to be properly displayed in the Virtual Venue. Learn more about this here: VOD Video Content Requirements (Video On Demand)
There are similar requirements for livestream signals. Their quality in the Virtual Venue can be only as good as they are provided by the source (e.g. studio, Zoom live stream etc.). Learn more about this here: Livestream Video Content Requirements / Livestream Encoder Settings

By default, the Virtual Venue's player automatically adapts the quality of the content to the users' conditions. It will consider both the user's bandwidth and video player window size to deliver the best possible, but also necessary, video quality level. This helps to save bandwidth while still providing the best user experience. The initial quality of a video might be lower even if the bandwidth can support a higher quality output. The player will switch to a higher quality output after a short time. Whenever the size of the player window changes, there will be another check in order to estimate whether it can be automatically scaled to a higher or lower quality.

In case the displayed quality does not suit a user's personal preferences, automatic scaling can be deactivated. We recommend testing your bandwidth before changing settings as a test will show you whether the lower quality output was caused by insufficient bandwidth on your end. If the bandwidth is not sufficient for your chosen setting, dropouts may occur.
